Welcome!
Hi, I'm Rebecca "Becca" Baitel!
At my core, I’m a storyteller—whether I’m teaching, tutoring, or writing. I’m currently pursuing my Master’s at Teachers College, Columbia University, diving even deeper into my passion for language and education.
Curiosity, creativity, and a touch of humor are what I bring to everything I do. Whether I'm uplifting students in the classroom or tackling a freelance writing project, I strive to make real, authentic connections and spark new ideas. One of the most impactful chapters of my journey was studying abroad in Florence, Italy, where I immersed myself in international journalism at the Florence University of the Arts.
When I’m not teaching or writing, you can usually find me adding to my cat puzzle collection, traveling, or listening to Taylor Swift. Thanks for visiting my page—feel free to explore my publications, services, and upcoming projects below.

Professional Updates
As 2025 approaches, I’m thrilled to be wrapping up my first student teaching placement at Central Middle School, where I’ve had the opportunity to work with seventh and eighth grade students since May. It’s been a fantastic experience, and I’m eager to transition to high school teaching at Summit High School in the spring. In addition to my student teaching, I’ve been substitute teaching and tutoring locally, which has provided valuable hands-on experience working with students across different age groups In the spring, I’ll also begin working on my thesis for graduation from my graduate program at Columbia University, marking another exciting step in my journey as an educator. I’m excited for the opportunities ahead and the continued growth I’ll experience as I move forward in my teaching career!
